About Broadsight
Built by communicators for communicators.
Broadsight began inside a busy communications team that needed a better way to preserve organizational history, coordinate complex files and make the team’s work easier to understand.

Broadsight’s roots are at the University of British Columbia, where the platform was first shaped by the realities of high-volume communications work.
Our story
The problem started with a missing history.
While leading communications work at the University of British Columbia, Broadsight founder Kurt Heinrich saw the same challenge appear repeatedly: media enquiries, emerging issues, approved messaging, expert coordination and strategic advice were distributed across spreadsheets, email threads, shared documents and individual memory.
Media-monitoring tools could show what appeared publicly. They could not show the operational work behind the outcome—or give the team a dependable place to begin when the next request arrived.
Drawing on more than 15 years in media relations and issues management, Kurt worked with his team at UBC to create the foundation of Broadsight: a straightforward shared workspace built and tested inside a complex, high-volume communications environment.
The goal was never to build another activity tracker. It was to preserve the background, messaging, people, decisions and related work behind every communications file.
That connected history helps teams respond more consistently, maintain continuity when responsibilities change and explain the complete contribution of the communications function. It also gives Broadsight AI the organizational context that generic AI is missing.

UBC was the original proving ground: a complex environment where the context behind communications work mattered as much as the public outcome.
